THE PERSPECTIVE BEHIND THE WORK

Technology is powerful.
Context makes it useful.

D
Donald PattonSystems thinker & technology builder

I bring an operational perspective to emerging technology: how systems behave, how they fail, and what it takes to trust them.

My experience in operational risk, safety systems, assurance, and technical program leadership spans energy, mining, automation, aviation, and complex industrial operations.

Today, I’m exploring how that domain experience can combine with AI-assisted development to create useful tools for autonomous systems, engineering decisions, and industrial intelligence.

I use ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Antigravity to help conceptualize, design, prototype, and build. These projects represent an evolving practice of technical learning, engineering collaboration, and practical innovation.

AI development, made transparent.

These are AI-assisted independent projects. The supplied files do not include component-level authorship histories. Case studies describe verifiable system behavior and limitations, without assigning unsupported coding contributions or qualifications.

Problem Identification

Start from an operational question where a misleading dashboard, an unexamined change, or a degraded control could cause a real-world failure.

PORTFOLIO EVIDENCE IN PRACTICE

In DRILL SENTINEL and POSEIDON, the core problem is not drawing telemetry charts—it is preventing operators from mistaking noisy surface signals for verified barrier health.
